Anvil Dreams

The anvil wallows on his heart
His dreams, trodden, alas depart
Pride triggers a cursory front
The fierce justification hunt
He steps to nowhere from the start

Hi Situation-I really meant "He steps" as in "He walks" I think it's ok as is but I appreciate your concern!

Wow, I think I've been having "Anvil Dreams" too, Natalie. I like the way you describe pride griggering "a cursory front" and forcing him to step "to nowhere." Awesome poem, my friend, and I see congratulations are in order. Love, Carolyn

Nat....a consonant is more likely to produce a HARD/STRESS sound than a vowel ...the ANvil WALlows on HIS HEART/ HIS DREAMS TRODDEN aLAS DEpart/PRIDE TRIgers a CURsor y FRONT/the FIERCE JUSTif a CA tion HUNT/ HE STEPS to noWHERE from the START..two small words [and a] [in the] [from the] IF you have them anywhere you have gone off iambic meter..it must go UP down UP down /RISE OF VOICE HARD SOUND soft voice low sound [listen to gleensleeves]
