England-Moore II

ENGLAND
     evergreen
     temperate
shore washed,gulf stream

     changeable
     daily,song
four seasons long

that never last...
     traditions
     of the past,
its global stage
     a language...
     mongrel bred

      left unsaid,
     with reserve,
in bonded word

after Marianne Moore

Did you see Susan's contest for a "jewel" with not many comments under it? I bet that one is going to fill up super fast. Many poets here have gems that have hardly been seen!

This is very pleasant reading, Brian. I was there in England once a long long time ago. Wish I could have seen more countryside. It is quite the nation with a glorious past. I loved the part: song four seasons long!
