Santa The Capitalist

New Year is at our doorstep
But first we have to celebrate Christmas peace

We are stressed up and vortices around the shopping centers
Always late with something,Always forgot something to someone

Back to the madness one more time, entering the battlefield again
But first of all..finding a free spot at the parkinglot..AHH! There`s one!

Screaming brakes next to me,another guy spotted it too
Move your ".blip." car you idiot, are you stupid or something?!?

Later on,we all gather around the table to eat Christmas dinner
Tell eachother how much we love our families and fellow human beings

Ah..christmas..peaceful..harmony..holy night..
My stomach is overloaded with christmas dinner and dessert

Santa is late though..must be overtime, again
Since he switched over to capitalism,he is stressed more than ever

Merry Christmas everyone,I will do my best
In reminding myself what Christmas is all about

Howdy Arild. Saginaw Michigan is probably the last outpost of civilization. Christmas day there were two restaurants open in the whole town, both Chinese - Buddhist, no doubt. Imagine eating egg roles for Christmas dinner. It's enough to make one forget what Christmas is all about, but we hummed strains of the Messiah while downing kim chi (Korean, actually) so I don't feel too much of a heathen. Have a ball! Love, daver

funny how christmas cheer is not reserved for parking lots.

A bit of madness to remind us what we miss when we give up the shpping spree Arild. So well told, makes me happy I don't have a car - just take them all out to dinner. How's your flu? Hope you're feeling better! Hugs, Lizzie

Arlid, you are so right. That is human nature coming out in its worst form at those crowded stores. Did you hear of all the trampling that occurred in some stores where some stupid athletic shoe just came out the other day? It's ridiculous. I am never going to another door buster sale again! People are really rude. You know the good people from the bad when you watch the way they react in these situations!

Great idea and presentation..Yes, in the marketing world the theory is to sell, sell, and sell some more..There was a time that there wasn't much for anyone for Christmas and people spent time together..They enjoyed simple food mostly homegrown..Times have changed..Sara

What a delightful poem. Your line about the parking lot is not as bad as the riots and pepper spraying for the new tennis shoe. I believe it was a Niki. People are insane. We all must reflect on just what Christmas is all about. Take care and Peace on earth to you and yours. Jancarl
