I live in a place that’s flat and dry,
Plants are short with cloudless sky.
Tumbleweeds go bouncing by,
Gets unbearably hot in July.
With lack of water you can die,
Sources of food are in short supply.
Consists of dusty stone and cacti,
With flora that look like bonsai.
On the sidewalk eggs will fry,
Sunglasses needed to cover each eye.
Cacti found can make you high,
Cool summer nights, meteors fly by.
But for some reason, I don’t know why,
Its unsung beauty makes me cry.
