Fear feeds the Beast

The wolf man cometh hairy, dank, and musk.
It’s the chill that enters your spine after dusk.

He is coming to get you on this full moon lit night.
Its waiting for you in the shadows, and out of sight.

Then suddenly, out of nowhere, and to your surprise.
He will appear with a blank cold hard look in his eyes.

With fangs, and claws at the ready for your premature demise.
It is our own fear the beast feeds on, that we'll come to realize.

Edwin, I like that you arrived at fear as the thing that feeds the beast. I think all "monsters"(especially those of the human variety) feed on our fear.

I enjoyed reading your poetry this morning Edwin. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I am going to see if I can write something for a couple contests this weekend. Hope you find the inspiration to do the same. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours. Love, Carol
