It's fun how you made the title tell even more for us, Nikko. too bad the magazines don't let the haiku poets use clever titles!! Gosh, I somehow had let this one get by me too. I'm seeing it just now as I go thru the winners' list. Congrats on your win.

Heya nikko. Read your comment about being in a haiku funk because of so many haiku contests(oh! Should I type this here?). Too late :D~Alright, the purist would say how this haiku isn't directly about nature(sunshine?), etc, but this is a different, well written haiku. You caught me off guard with this one and I like it.
