Pleading Soul

My fathers’ wounds
..bestowed upon me
in life til death
..cutting so deeply
as to leave the
scares of his earthly
pain upon my spirit
..the reason for my
restlessness

Peace and healing
will only come in the
understanding forgiveness
of my heart
he so beseeches

I can only then taste the
sweet stillness
of harmony between me,
and my father’s
tortured soul begging contrition

-Eileen P Carry

My father stands guard in my dreams many nights.
             A atonement he gladly accepts.
He doesn’t speak, yet I see the sorrow in his pleading
eyes as if to say …“forgive me”.
