sunrise serenades

it is what it is
sunrise either warm or cold
a light in the sky

the sun is being
and the keeper of the time
for billions of eyes

as the sunrises it sets
half a world away
my east and your west

"My east and your west..." what a great line, John. It solidifies the somber mood of the poem. I like the way you described the sun as being "the keeper of time" and it adds a sense of urgency for the couple to meet in the last verse. Great work! Love, carolyn

Enjoyed your Haiku John. We are doing a different form of Haiku which is a shorter version of the traditional 5-7-5. I must say I struggle with Haiku but am on face book with the Haiku group. We have Deb G and Charles who help us out immensely on this new form. love phyl
