About This Poem
First Child
Children are a blessing sent from God above,
more than than a dove they are sent to love.
There will be times of laughter and tears,
these times will be the best of your years.
You will teach your child right from wrong,
and this will leave in his heart a special song.
The path a child takes in this life is unknown,
but that song in his heart will lead him home.
When your child grows up and leaves the nest,
you must trust in God and he will do the rest.
