When I Meet You

Wind blows the branches
Crimson leaves fall;
Dark shadows dance
On the sunlit wall.

The wind softly whispers
Secrets to the trees;
Then I'm reminded
Of much more than these.

In the grey twilight
When ever I meet you;
The trees are more crimson
And the sky is more blue.

When the wind calls her song
In forgotten skies;
Would it be wrong
If we were not wise?

    This is why I am so in awe of you...your soft beautiful touch of romanticsm with words in melodic rhythmic form. A lovely introduction to this piece with an artistic captivating questioning line at the end. Wish I could visit the Soup more but work is heavy for me. Know that I always love your words LIZ!

    Elizabeth, I wrote my entry for Constance's contest and chose Elizabeth Barrett Browning. If you can, please check it out. If you read the last line my "about this poem", you'll see I dedicated it to you. You remind me of her... your earnest romantism blended with words that often reveal a genuine sadness that shines with hope. I so love reading your work. I never know what to expect from you next. Cheers, Cyndi. PS... aren't we all too often wise, when we should just give in and be the fool?

    And softly breezes wisper soon. Perhaps when warmth returns in june. Then winters chill and a cold dark heart. Will melt away and let love start. And birds will sing in skies anew. To tell the lovers what to do. And with their hearts, they'll share a dream. And again, things won't be as bad as they seem.
