Aspiration

Tell me of hope for the world is sad enough
Without my complaint to make it more tough;
Find new faces to give the heart cheer
And hold close all those who are most dear;
For earth knows the perpetual drain
Of persistant sorrow and unceasing pain.

Tell me of faith, for the world's better without
Your dreams of folly and melancholy doubt;
If you trust in God and not in yourself
And will be able to put your doubts on a shelf
To give peace of mind so faith can come
Then no one will mind if your mouth is dumb.

Let's speak of health, this sad endless tale
Of human troubles that are boring and stale.
You cannot win or profit or please
By harping on the dischord of stubborn disease;
Say you feel fine, the world is good to you
And before you know, it will all come true.

    Love the last two lines! (especially) Super couplet rhyming, flow, and an unflagging belief in the positive! Me too!!! Keith

    on;t think I've ever seen this one before. It relates to your latest poem "the Complaint" in a similar message that just can't be gotten around. It is factual in the idea's employment. Well done, Lizzie. Good message and holds interest. Thanks alot for your nice comment on my poem.

    One's aspiration is not anothers. Say a prayer for our brothers. Theres not a sunrise that can light ones day. When the clouds of depression get in the way. You can stand up straight and face the sword. But tomorrow will come with your foolish reward.

    If only pain were that easy to dissolve. I like this poem but personally believe that a lot of pain is tied to unseen forces we're not always aware of but not necessarily completely innocent of either. (It's a VERY deep subject for another forum) but thanks for making me think about it which is what poetry SHOULD be doing - making us THINK more! So "BRAVO" (again) dear friend on another thought provoking piece. Sweet smiles...

    well dear lady, I never said anything about keepin' food under control, how can you control an inanimate object? haha, common thread, most read what they feel, I do that too, that was not the intent of that verse but thanks the same for the comment. my best in giving thanks, my worst hyenas, maybe a com on best and worst verse may give you insight to how my genres are, I do not know you and friends would die for me, I have 5 like that, all in the world. its poetry, yes friend in poetry, you have an unique style. Poettry remains an art. my best,
