nice dichotemy of colors/purity against the mud - are you saying that's what's really underneath? dirtiness? so many ways to take this :)

I would think that the snow could create some muddie slush..We don't experience much of it here in the south so I don't know what happens when it is as much as people experience up north..Enjoyed reading..Thanks for stopping by, reading, and commenting on my work..The comments were uplifting..Sara

Very interesting short versemy new friend and YES you can laugh at my haiku about getting poked in the eye BUT humour is best labeled a senryu here's a 1 page list which will help you alot. What you have labeled haiku are not ;). http://sites.google.com/site/graceguts/essays/haiku-checklist
