His Soul

I stand by the
window watching
searching for any
sign of him.
I close my eyes
and count to three.
One.
Two.
Three.
I feel it.
He has arrived, somewhere
in the house, he's here.
My body turns cold,
awaiting his next move.
It's dark in the room,
no light anywhere.
Very slightly the
door eased open.
Still looking out the
window, I feel his
presence.
I am blind
and numb.
I see with my
soul.
I feel with my
heart.
My love for him
has never went away.
Together we stand
in each others arms.
His soul knows
mine, as mine his.
