THE CARVED GODDESS

I brought all I have to your
doorstep
All the sacrifices to your
temple
I found no welcome, no sight
of maids
singing
No parade, no orchestra,
no heralds....

Hear me dear goddess
I come from a distant land
for your worship
My life I bring to you
My dreams, my hopes, in a
cracked vessel
That saw countless
voyages and climes.

Tell me
Do I smell? Do I have
running sores?
Do I harbour an old curse?
That your door stays
locked before mine eyes?
Caring not for a peep into
my now aging
offerings?

Show me justice
Judge me not before you
know me.
Oh, I shall own you when I
own a sculptor
Then recieve you must my
humble sacrifices!
