Sonnet 21

Methinks my scale should not outweigh with spite
As balance should befriend the years I've prayed
To death;hello...and to my life, goodnight
Goodmorning Judge, how hath thy heart been weighed?

'Twas many a year ago my mind was bent
On burning bridges that belonged to peace
Thus my malevolent mind would earn its rent
By adding fuel to fire for flames to lease

But with good measure did I turn the cheek
And powder light upon faces unloved
For many and many years my tongue did speak
Wise words which walked on ears of all beloved

My Lord, may I enter thine gate with wings?
Les I'm condemned, and await hell that rings

such a nice metaphor for how one measures his behavior. Long time, no see, Johnny. How have you been?

Johnny, you changed your life around and that is all that will count as you await passage through heaven's gait. So many of us have made mistakes, but God forgives us when He sees we have learned from them. I don't know when I've read a more inspiring sonnet, my friend. Simply beautiful! Love and blessings, Carolyn

I like how this starts w/a question and then logically follows, with evil and good short stories. they give me a brief picture of this person, just enough for the ending to be filled with suspense. what's going to happen to this person? i want to know!

Dear Johnny, what a deep message you speak in this fascinating verse. Especially like the last 2 line of second verse. Very descriptive.
