Signs

Maybe that flower shop you scurried past this morning was a sign
Maybe that old man you passed asking for spare coins was a sign.
And maybe the little signs you miss everyday are the clues for your happiness.

We can be irrelevant to small signs
We can sometimes forget to read between the fine lines,
We can hold out our hands in praise
But forget how to truly be blessed throughout our day.

I have looked past that one smile in a crowded room of frowns
I have missed that sweet instrumental message in musical sounds
I have overlooked the one star in the night shinning through thick skies
And fell asleep behind invisible eyes.

We don't see the little things through the chaos and pandemonium
We don't spot the small loves of the earth when were to busy running
We miss so many things that make the world beautiful
Simply because we are caught in life's busy trap.
