Can't help but nod and smile to this one's Jack :)! Sometimes, I can just be plain 'ol stumped over a write and find myself wondering whether I am the only one not getting it? I think sometimes too much metaphors can cloud the poem too much...very honest poem, really liked this :D

I really like this and it is so true. Sometimes I just give up and move on and decide I'm rather dense when a poem makes abosolutely no sense to me. I like them clear and to the point like this one. Thanks for your kind comments. Joyce

I love this poem, it says so much! There are many poems out there and some are just downright confusing and their forms they use just crazy, but your form and what you wrote was just amazing!! Thanks for the fine write and the great expression!

Yes, some poets are a bit too arcane or esoteric in their writing methods. I don't mind having to read a poem twice, but I expect to understand it then. This is a good one. Good luck in the contest. Robert.

Oh I do so agree my friend. It's awful when you read something for pleasure and can't get what the writer is talking about. I think it's when people try to put too much "ART" in their craft. God job, God Bless, JB

He was a boy, she was a girl, can I make it any more obvious?.. Thanks, Jack, for recalling to me some good times walking through construction sites with my then 8-year-old singing "sk8r boy" at the top of our lungs. It was 10 years ago and I'm just now getting to where I'm not totally embarrassed to tell people I actually did that AND enjoyed it! Appreciate the sentiments in this write .. gave me a grin.
