Religion

At the altar she stood as Eve

Watching and waiting

For the second coming of the bush doctor

From the blues he descended

Eyes clothes with incenses

He dangles the bottle of olive oil

As though he has seen ghost

Piska dabra abracadabra he mused,

I see danger in their wombs,

But you must appeal our gods

For the gods are hungry

With ten percent of every cowries earn

Shall you offer

I don care what what the white priest thinks about this

They called me bush doctor,

Is it because

Am not a slave to modern religion?

Who are they to judge us?

                                                                               awoh
