Self Portrait

You see my sapphire eye
dare you look inside
what will you see
will it be me
or a girl
from your imagination
someone you conjured up
my lucks ran out of luck
I am an open book
but secrets still lay inside
read between the lines
and can hear the cry
seems like you can read
me easily
can you touch me like braille
certain parts
childlike and frail
twinkling neath the surface
of my white sandy sea
yes I’m lost
you must see me searching
for someplace deserving
Caribbean blue clear and free was
once me
now the stormy waters
with the circling sharks
eat me alive
stuck out in the dark
Bermuda triangle
do not dare enter
for the sailors who came here
have not left centered
let my rain come down
and wash away
my tears
no one will come
and save me from these fears
I have lost the hope to
find the one
to bring me back into the sun
