setting sun adorns
the river’s long slender neck 
with sparkling diamonds.

    Hi sharon what you have above is an exquiste sentence [you knew that which is why you instinctively put a period] haiku must have 2 parts, part 2 giving sensory input and no poetic vehicle such as personification [neck of river] can be used. Hope this helps! Light & Love
