STUBBORN

.

Roaring, rolling
   upon the shore,
        the noontime waves
             curl, creep and crawl.

They rush with
    forceful speed and all
         against the stolid,
               stone seawall.

They smash against
     its boulder base
         to shake and crack
             its rocky core.

Exploding
    as salty spray,
         they splash in
             the wind and fall.

They keep rushing in,
    ebbing out,
        for that's what waves
              are after all!
