The clouds are ominous today
in varying shades of gray
and then it pours
or sometimes never rains.
But then assumptions about the weather are easily put
and easier to change.
is missing but at least I know that when the sky's blue
there's always the sun
Is often accompanied by rain.
But not you.
I can see you
and nearly touch the vibrating sound
of your laughter that's always shaking my ground
In varying shades of sound
But I can never find the evidence of your sun.
The giving and taking of light comes
without rhythm or warning
and it's demeaning when it's gone.
And so I'll play in thunder
til the rain pulls me under
and you're left without a sound
