Water Running Red

You hide your sins within the shower
and await for the knock hour by hour.

The smell of metal taints thick the air,
waiting for someone who’s never there.

It’s her body, you must follow her command
you’re running out of reasons to stay your hand.

So much faster are you losing sleep
it just takes one mistake, a cut to deep.

Finally someone thinks to knock at the door
will they find you on the bathroom floor?
