HERM

 I once knew a fisherman named Herm
On the use of bait, he stood firm
Give me some corn he said
Or a piece of old bread
Because I just couldn't hurt a poor worm.

    I love your limerick, Vince! My grandpa used to take me fishing as a child, and I would look sadly, at those wiggly worms in the can, Grandpa had to bait the hook, I would not touch them, poor things I would say~~

    Hee, hee, hee! How sensitive this fisherman is! Don't kill a worm but kill the fish :) I saw a guy using corn meal to catch trout, here, in California. He caught a lot of fish: trout with pink meat flesh. Tastes like samon.v4ag

    Herm was indeed a kind man. He couldn't even hurt a worm to catch a fish for his own food. An enchanting poem - very graceful. Thanks for your kind comments on my poem The Old Man of Merces. We tend to forget that we also will be old one day and suffer loneliness despite the fact that we see it happening around us. My poem is to awaken the conscience. -Mohammad
