They would appear it was close to the hour,
I waited holding my breath;
Millions I see, the waves upon the sea,
To unfurl the view ahead.
The playful wind thumped on my shoulder,
Under their freezing touch I shivered;
They came, stars in herds,
Showers of silver descending on the water.
Playing over the waves they spread
Their glitter all over the sea;
On a frosty cold night, a crystal silhouette night,
They spy, their impish eyes on me.
I stepped into the water,
In my tiny hands to gather
Silver dust sticking all over my dress;
As I return with starlight in my tresses.
