Spring in the quiet wood

The wood in spring quietly awaits sunlight
Wake up, wake up insists mother nature
End your gentle slumbering, winter has gone
Show us your beauty

Am waiting so patiently for your words to come true in my area of living Nick as Winter has left major scars from intense falling snow over and over again.. luv the dialogue of Mother Nature to sound the trumpet for Spring luv..

back to this beauty. WEll, Nick, I do have a melancholy side from time to time, which is what confused you, but it rarely affects me in my life. (and melancholy can only help produce a different quality of poetry!) thanks for your welcome comments as always! andrea

Enjoyed the use of personification to give life to both mother nature and the woods, Nick. Up North the woods (but for the evergreens) do seem to be sleeping in winter. Here in Florida, things stay green year round for the most part. Nice work! Thanks for your comments. I wrote the orignal poem on which that one was based when I was in college. Love, Carolyn
