The Color Of My Skin

The color of my skin helps me
I can get out of speeding tickets
I can have a fair education
I can laugh without fear
I can be here
I can be there
I can do anything

The color of your skin hurts you
Justice is not on your side
education is a joke
Your laughter is hidden
You can't be here
You can't be there
Your dreams are oppressed

What can I do?
What can't I do?
Prejudice
Discrimination
Racism; are too strong
I can be your friend

This work reminds me of a song I sang in elementary school many years ago. The song was titled "The Color of Our Skin Doesn't Matter Anymore". A short and sweet writing here.
