In the ambience of the living room light,
My wife sits.
She's beautiful. A down-to-earth, black head scarf
Balances out heavenly lips.
Her eyebrows rest easy on the horizons
Of her deep, seductive eyes,
Shaped perfectly, even as she is perfect.
Allowing a perfect space where her cute button-nose lies.
I love her.
Her nightdress hugs the sexiest of curves
And I know, what the nightdress keeps from my eyes
Is way beyond words.
Words struggle to do my wife
Justice and duty
Even as I, when I look up, struggle
To comprehend her beauty.
I want to reach across and kiss her.
The thought makes my heart beat hard and fast.
The way she looks is so sweet,
I feel small and outclassed.
So, I'm gonna sit in the ambient lighting,
Glance in her direction and smile
At my beautiful wife I love so much.
My Queen and Cherub. I continue to smile.
