Praise

Few know my name and even fewer know my story
They ask me all the time how I can say
To God be the glory
Sure I've been lower than low and under under
But He brought me through every blight and blunder
For all my trials I am made stronger
Subjected to taboo throughout all my tender young age
I had to fight to keep my heart from filling with rage
I've been through more than I can bear to share
But I let the past stay in the past, why it happened is neither here nor there
I could focus only on the negative circumstances
Instead I choose to give Him thanks for the many chances
Chances I've been given to live on
In spite of wrongdoings done
Learning to forgive has been my most valuable lesson
I choose to stay positive for the key is perception
I've heard it said that as a man thinketh so is he
So I refuse to let anger and pessimism take hold of me
The few and fewer need not wonder anymore
I have plenty to be grateful for
To God be the glory!

Welcome to PoetrySoup Typhani. I know this is a late welcome but, I have had some very pressing matters going on. I hope to be back and at full speed in the next week or so. Until then please keep writing and sharing your poetry. Love, Carol
