First Communion

The powdery snow gloves the fingers of maple forest protecting barren bark with the expectation of rose tipped bloom. A meeting point between pristine innocence and the veiled promise of spring ripening. Each trunk and limb mirroring the action of man Reaching, arching, swaying, creating aisles of church-like splendor, a sacrament where the virginal may walk toward communion with their God. Inward toward the birth of faith and outward toward the wedgwood sky in celestial sight.

I agree with Jimbo....your last 5 lines are a great ending. Yes, this is a 'softer' free verse, but do you know what? It is very universally appealing. Debbie, you gave me a 1st place!? Now, I have to give you a 1st place haha! Hey, thanks for honouring my poem, which is a dedication to my Mom--and all Moms who sacrificed for their children. What can I say? I guess I am a Momma's boy! :D

the chaste demeanor of this stroll through the Maple Forest is quite original....your last 5-lines soar with mine faves!.....jmg

An amazingly beautiful analogy here. Your words collectively deliver some vivid descriptiveness.
