Sand Writer

I saw a man who wrote in sand
From the depth of his mind
To each stroke of his hand,
And twixt each word a tear-drop fell
To bind the sand to a teary well

'Why choosing sand ,' I asked
'For surely, each word cannot last,'
He peered my way with none a word
As if I were never heard,
Another tear did join those cast

Upon a knee, he watched sand drift
Only once, his eyes did lift,
Alas, of tears that sand did toss
From my view,
Appearing lost
