Masked Foe

A time and when is set ablaze your house,
And you maneuver a shriek for help,
Not all dashing-in lifeboats intent to douse;
Some waste the only savior water,
Wetting where needs no wet,
Chance for flames to flare they let,
And laugh as you in pain yelp,
As everything burns hotter and hotter.
