hidden beauty

The sun sparkles off the moving water.
as it flows down the drainage ditch.
The tiny waterfall slowly crawls,
over a six inch rock pitch.
The sound of the flowing water,
brings music to the ears.
Blocking out all the clutter,
of cars and people near.
Close your eyes and pretend,
to let the sound take you there.
To a place that lives within,
of another time and place.
Of the forest and rivers then,
not the skyscrapers of today.
I come whenever I still can,
to stand and listen to the wind.
To think that a concrete city,
could hold such beauity within.
