Die Augen der Nacht, The Eyes of the Night, Los Ojos de la Noche

Vor den Augen der Nacht
Verschwimmt die Einsamkeit
So ganz tränenlos

---------------------------------------

The loneliness blurrs
In front of the eyes of the night
Completely without tears

---------------------------------------

Antes de los ojos de la noche
Se desvanesce la soledad
Así sin lágrimas

You always seem to paint pictures with words that touch readers' hearts, Gert. This is such a vivid description of depression. Well done, my friend. Love, Carolyn

These are beautiful Gert. E

Yes, Gert, the quail haiku is a true story. I went outside after the storm to find a baby quail had gotten left behind by its mom. They march through our streets ike little ducks behind their moms. It struck me as really sad that his mom did not come back for him. But maybe they just knew instinctually that he would not last. I didn't know what to do for him he was so close to death and when I went back moments later, he had died. Luv, Andrea
