In Light of Love

In light of love lasting, forevermore,
in all places, in all ways, touching my heart
guiding my soul with your bright flame to shore
sacrificing an ocean's waves, to part.

I hear your sweet call in my dearest dreams
when beauteous sleep restores you to me
and once again in shared breath, it does seem
your flower blooms in joy, of sweetness free.

I  would drown in joy, in your morning dew
so laced with an unknowing breathless need
in a garden of life, so blessed, so true
spread at your feet, a sacrifice to weed.

Away from you, it is only dark above,
my crystal soul shatters, in light of love.

Stephen, I missed you while I was off the soup. Thanks for stopping by. How about writing something for my "Taxing Times" contest? Love, Carolyn

Romantic and beautifully worded, just as a sonnet should be, Stephen. LUv, Andrea

When we lose someone we love, we dwell on the good times and wish we could return to them, Stephen. Sometimes, however, that is not possible and the darkness hovers over our lives until we are able to find a new love. There is great longing in your beautiful words, dear friend. I can identify with this feeling. Soup mail returned with my thanks. Love, Carolyn
