Sleep, oh Sleep

Already the battle is lost,

Yet we all try to persist and resist,

Losing our grip very fast,

Trying to make it last,

But it is stronger and steadfast,

For when it strikes, it is very fast.

Not a single soul is spared,

Not even those who are scared,

Of giving in and getting scarred,

While those who do not experience it, look to be cured,

Eventually it gains control.

It finds some in interesting places,

For it requires no spaces,

While some are found in the right places,

Others are caught in the most odd space,

Be it in the parks, theaters, among others

Sleep oh sleep! How bitter, sweet and satisfying you can be!

Yet your poem could not make me sleep. that is the paradox; you wrote an inspired piece. Do not stop.

I remember having a period of insomnia and someone saying, well nobody ever died from insomnia and that was my cure. I realised I had gotten into a rut and once I was no longer fearful of it, it stopped and I sleep now most nights without even a dream:))
