Im Done

When the HIGH ends
and the CrAsH begins
my door bell
please don't ring
my cell phone
please don't call
for I will
no longer be there
to break your fall

It is tough when things get to that point. Great that you are able to set limits.

This write Joan speaks volumes. The terse write finds its way deep sis, and wisdom has no bounds, and you have clearly evoked a message which the cold heart will find easy to swallow ! Great write Joan ! Have a blessed day sis ! Much love, james

I find I am a cheer leader to all but no one lifts me in times of need.....I guess it is the curse of a mother/wife. JoanMarie have you been writing poetry long?

I enjoyed reading your excellent poetry this morning JoanMarie. We can only do so much to help someone else. When it gets to the point of losing our own family over helping someone who does not respect us enough to even try to help themselves we have to close the door on them. Wishing you a wonderful day. Love, Carol

ooh very sad write but it is hard work to be there for someone who clearly does not want to help themselves. We can only help those willing to change.
