Green Nature

The window is ajar as I stop to see a leaf blow through
on the gentle wind.

Flies travel on their wings as trees are silhouetted by
a weak sunshine.

Summer is not yet in full bloom, but each day progresses quickly.
I want to step outside and feel the cold paving stones
engulf the pads of my bare feet.

The wildlife calls me from nature and I will return the invite
with a gesture of exceptance.

The breeze does not caress with warmth,
but I am to be amongst the greens and browns of a garden.

I glimpse at the shed not far away, with its new coats of potent varnish.
It has yet to be a place where new flowers grow,
but it will and the insects will soon have new homes in a place
with a beautiful lawn of fresh grass and daisies.

This is a great poem - I like the part the breeze does not caress with warmth - very good description. I like springtime myself. Cherilyn
