Confessions of a Recovered Romantic

I used to look at pretty girls
walking away
and had to repress a desire
to follow
with thoughts of fun

Now when a pretty girl
looks at me
I quail inside
and have to repress a desire
to not just walk away
but run

How funny, Stephen! I feel the same way if I see a handsome fella looking at me. In my mind I hear myself screaming, "Let me out!" Once burned -- as they say -- it's not easy to jump back into the fire. Love, Carolyn
