Hi Kashinath -- This is a lovely haiku. Very, very good description of hope for tomorrow. I love the first line 'gloomy sky weeping'; that's what it feels like sometimes, doesn't it. Thanks for your kind words about my poem 'Elephant Years'. I much appreciate your reading my work and taking time to comment. Best wishes. Deb

I certainly would have ranked this haiku high in the contest, Kashinath. As for the Tsunami poem James and I wrote, it was a fantasy. We didn't have a specific tsunami in mind. It just seems like we're seeing tsunamis more frequently than ever before now and we wanted to write about romance. Love, Carolyn

Kashinath, regarding the form new to you "blank verse," it is like the meter of a sonnet (iambic pentameter) but you don't have to worry about rhyming it. That is all it means! It can be any number of lines, but ten syllables with iambic meter is all that is required! Luv, Andrea
