About This Poem
Dear God
Dear God,, I said to him
There is a stone where my heart should be
No matter how deep I dig within myself
I can't seem to feel anything anymore
I watch the little girl with the dirty face
She's eating ice cream and has smeared it
Dear God,, As I said to him
There is a stone where my heart should be
I have all these memories floating within
I can't seem to remember how they feel
Pain seems to be dripping from the walls
You just think and there it is as always
Dear God ,,I was saying to him
There is a stone where my heart should be
It's hard to look out from the world within
Sometimes there is a dis - connect
Fantasy and reality seem to be mixing
Then you just don't know where to begin
Dear God ,,I should of said to him
There is a stone where my heart should be
Things might be different if not for the dance
Yes I'm sure of it,, things would be different
Things changed in my world after the dance
It gets lonely when you live inside your mind
Dear God ,,I said to him
There is a stone where my heart should be
I thought there was love,, yes I'm sure of it
Though you took that from me didn't you
Nothing and no one can help me now
So I'll just stay here , , within myself
