Neglect--Part-Two

The Days Move on, Her Friendship Grows of Worth. . Though in my Heart, a Part of me would Fail to Fully Accept it. . Leaving Behind an Empty Void of unanswered Questions to Follow. Being there for Her had Started to Drift off into a Place where The Mist Reeks of all things most Dear to a Young Girl. . Who was Ripped of it in Nearly Every Stage of Her Life. My Silence had Begun the Day I kept my Knowledge at a Distance Of the Sudden Death Upon the Boy I Held Deepest in my Heart. . She Never Knew even of His Existence. Some Days we would Cross Paths. . I Felt Her Glance. .Sensed Her Thoughts. . Still, I Neglected. I Knew this would bring Pain toward Her. .Even so. . I Avoided the Idea of Looking. . Only in the Hopes to Find the Words I kept Hidden for so Long. The Time Came when Her Endurance to my Silence was no more. . She would Venture out to the Dark Place in which I Would not Allow Her to Enter. . Soon to Learn that I was nowhere to be Found. .out of Reach. . By a Man not of that House. . But a Familiar Visitor, Who had Arrived Hours before. She couldn’t Help but Wonder of the Saddened Look Which Reflected Upon the Man’s Face. . Along with the Little Information He gave Her, It didn’t seem to be all of it, For the Reason that my Absence had begun to occur each Day. . Until Rumors Spread Behind those Closed Doors. . Of the Quiet Girl. .Who Once Killed Herself, For the Means they Knew not of. But the Friend She Left Behind Understood more of Her. . More that She had Wished to Forget. . Because to Watch me Fade. . Fade away Before Her Eyes. . Would Only Hurt too Much. .

gosh, Lynette. Was she a ghost then? That whole time? This is very atmospheric. And the way you ended by saying fade. She was someone that faded in life as well as in death. I enjoyed reading where you took your story and thanks for your comments on my poems. LUv, Andrea

Such a sad story of two girls who barely knew each other and yet felt a special connection, Lynette. If you submitted this as "prose poetry," it would make a great entry for Catie's latest contest. Have a wonderful New Year, dear friend. Love, Carolyn
