falling to dream

I lay awake, with eyes closed in anticipation of reaching
that always familiar
euphoric feeling.
It is a place where the world is quiet, sparking memories
of a falling snow covering
brown fields of hay.
Roof tops of houses are graced by a pure, clean blanket of
white, blinding, mystical
crystals.
All of my worries, are drifting away peacefully.
My mind empties into a clear soothing pool of silence.
That one second. The second that splits an ever so fine
line.
A line that is the dividing euphoria, and a spacious field of
darkness soon to give
way to dreaming.
A line which cannot be measured by mortal means.
