The Good the Bad and the Ugly Divorce

Let Him Go (Limerick)

Our mom told us how she chose her beau,
With an “eeny, meeny, miny, moe!”
Of course it didn’t last,
With a choice so half-assed!
But at least it taught the fool to grow!

Child Support (Haiku)

Parental disputes
Had placed us in the middle
Of their divorce wars

Divorce (Couplet)

He left her to fend for us alone, blasé with his remiss,
She chose to break this conjugal bond without marital bliss.

Ha Marilyn. Thanks for the kind comment. “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe!” which one is the best. The first is really very good, then so also are the rest. Sad and true I have no choice, but to solemnly decree. Having perused and parsed and read, I really love all three. Best of luck in the contest and thanks again. Eamon

Got a good chuckle from the limerick, but the senryu packs a punch, Marilyn. Children are the most tragic victims in divorce. And when a woman is left on her own to provide for her children as described so well in the couplet, What choice do they have but to end the marriage. Great writing in all three forms and congratulations on your win! Love, Carolyn

""With a choice so half-assed!"" Frankness is in order, at times, Marilyn. So many of humanity's choices are as such. Good luck with your poem. Thanks for comments, they are important to me. Agape, Moses
