Blossoms on the Snow

(A Kyrielle Sonnet)

The tree stood trembling; red drops spilled
one Christmas day where one was killed.
Sweet daughter they would not see grow
left crimson blossoms on the snow.

What horror that their girl could be
slain senselessly beneath that tree
where every spring she loved to go
and blossoms fell, but not on snow.

The tree of which she’d grown so fond
dropped pearl white petals on a pond.
Oh, that it still were long ago
before were blossoms on the snow!

The tree stood trembling; red drops spilled
like cherry blossoms on the snow.

A whole new perspective on Christmas trees... very intriguing! Am sure you'll do well in the contest! My muse really did hear my plead for help and gently prodded until "Missing Poetry" appeared on the page:) This poem actually did come into being as a result of a challenge I'd set for myself! Have you ever heard of Magnetic poetry? If not, it's a set of words printed on magnets that you can use as prompts for poems...when stuck:) Used this to write "Missing Poetry" ! A new one going

Wow another superb write, Andrea. A kyrielle Sonnet for the blossoms on the snow. Always captivating with full force of a deep touch to emotions. Good luck to you on this contest. By the way, just want to answer your posed question to my poem: Holiday Home - I am here in a Middle East Country working as an OFW, where for a contract worker like me is allowed to go on vacation once a year (but it is a paid vacation with a take home one month salary pay) not bad. (^_^) Noel.
