A Conversation At Patmos

While the slaves worked the
field and prayed the days of labor were
coming to a halt; from good ole caeser
who ruled with an iron hand.
Nights of silence was like spring and
the mornings torment.
During work a roman soldier passed
with a bucket of water and a sponge
to drink it down
John was just dicussing the subject
of compassion, and how Christ taught
about love and unity.

"About love and unity." There won't ever be much unity without it Derrick. Enjoyed your poem. Agape, Moses

thought provoking write...I saw a historical show on pbs about a slave ship from africa that the slaves over thru then wrecked the ship. It is hard to believe there was slavery. I saw on the news that every 2 minutes in Atlata, GA a child is placed into sexual slavery/prostitution. 70 miles from my house. tragic!!

Quite a bit of irony in this clever "conversation" between the slaves. They received such little compassion, but still recalled the teachings of Christ on love and unity. You really have a great technique/style, Derrick! Love, Carolyn
