Suspended Prison
Standing on the platform of
A confining, vertical shaft
Awaiting transportation to
...My first morning class
I press the button, and
Seconds into the hoist
The metal cage I'm in
Let's out an awful noise
I comprehend, in a panic
Suspended between floors
No way out, no one around
Trapped in a metal core
I call for help, not long after
A pleasant voice lets me know
It won't be long, before I'm free
From this prison, my newest foe
Once released, a sigh of relief
Sense of freedom restored
Grateful that no longer stuck
These wings continue to soar.
