A jaded man

The sting of shattered trust
fills his veins with toxic spite,
contaminating his heart.

He finds solace in a bottle,
quenching his resentment,
slurring forth caustic fumes;
nauseating his liver.

Until he spits her treachery up
with a sickening heave,
in the shallow, murky gutter
of a jaded man's reprieve.

    Yes, the bottle gives solace to many broken hearts, but only love can heal the jaded heart of love ... I so believe the Christ in this ... you are blessed and highly favored with a pen. One love.

    Well, re-reading this poem, I now realize it isn't exactly a counterpart to the "woman scorned" But, that is the way I am going to treat those 2 pieces, personally :D A lot of men "bottle up" their shattered trust. I enjoyed reading this as much, the second time around~Chris
