Drop by Drop

Tears falling…
drop
by
drop,
drumming steady
like echoing heartbeats,
empty and void.
Tiredness grows now where once flourished love.
Memories and heartaches past, merge
to form scars
...weeping
scars form to merge
past heartaches and memories.
Love flourished once where now grows tiredness;
void and empty heartbeats
echoing
like steady drumming,
drop
by
drop
…falling tears.

A big congratulations to you, Sharon...on this winning palindrome. And I owe you a bigger thanks on helping me once again stumble through mine....if not for you...I would have made an error in my form. I give most of the credit to you. Thanks again for your generosity! Love, Carrie

Hi Sharon :) Super congrats for being in the winner's circle with this beautiful palindrome...I honestly though this would be higher though--it's so cleverly done-- hmm any luck at the coffee shop? and I'm not sure exactly what you mean by you are being constrained in your poems lately? You always go about with your poetry so beautifully so hmm I am puzzled? You mean by the form you use? Maybe you're right a break would be good, but make it quick! will miss your beauties! :)

by the way, thanks for your comment about Breaking into Dawn. YOu have not even seen the ORIGINAL version yet, free verse. I plan to post it or blog about it soon. I want opinions about which one is better, the rhymed or the free verse version. There was no way I was going to butcher it further and turn it into an enclosed rhyme. We have to draw a line sometimes. haha. LUv, Andrea

Was this for Palindrome contest. OH MY, for ME, this is a perfect example of how it is done. YOu chose phrases that would not sound awkward when reversed. That takes talent, it is very time consuming though and that is why I did mine the way I did it! I really hope this one places high! LUv, Andrea

Where does your talent stop, I ask you?? You've outdone yourself! I have yet to try this one and I am still racking my brains!! Super bravo for this one!! --nikko :)

Exquisite form, Sharon! Almost a palindrome. It's always so sad when lost love leaves "void and empty heartbeats." Can relate. Happy holiday! Love, Carolyn
