Ammo Abu Anas

His words add splendor to all that’s trite
Just like a tender breeze would do to a
Hot, summer night
Just like mountains are embellished
By golden sunlight
And just like an afternoon sky is colored
By a rainbow or a kite

Ammo: (Arabic) Paternal uncle or great-uncle, or ,more generally, a respectful form of
address to any man of an older generation.
Abu: (Arabic) “Father of”
Anas: An Arabic given name

You are an excellent poet. I love that you put the kite in at the end - I have a weakness for kites. They just add so much life to a poem, in my opinion. hehe :) -Grace

and as we all learn from those whom came before us...we nurture and teach those who will listen, but more importantly, those who will feel the true intimacy of whats being related...such a beautiful, descriptive write...your mind is in such a special place....stay true to that, and stay strong....peace , jay

There is so much we can learn from the older generation, Farah. I like the perspective you took in writing about how this person's wisdom impacts your life. Well done! Love, Carolyn
